The PPL liner is an inner vessel of a PPL-lined hydrothermal autoclave, made up of Polyparaphenol (PPL). It is mainly used as a replacement for Teflon liner in case of high-temperature reactions. It is usually black in color. It is chemically inert and does not react with any chemical used during the hydrothermal or solvothermal reaction.

The PPL liner comes in a range of capacities like 25ml, 50ml, 100ml, 150ml, 250ml, and 500ml. The dimension of the liners changes as per the vessel’s volume. It is produced with perfect sizes to adjust in the Stainless-steel reactor.

The PPL liner’s maximum operating temperature is 280 °C, while the safe temperature is 260 °C. It may deform in shape if the temperature reaches beyond 300 °C. It is much costlier as compared to PTFE liner. It is also known as a PPL vessel for a hydrothermal autoclave reactor.

The ideal heating and cooling temperature rate to get better results will be 5 0C.

The Teflon-lined hydrothermal synthesis autoclave is corrosive resistant. It is also acidic and alkaline resistant hence used for highly alkaline and acidic solutions. The autoclave for hydrothermal synthesis is mostly used for crystallization processes and nanoparticles. Since it is operating at a very high temperature and high pressure, hence it is also called the hydrothermal bomb. Hydrothermal laboratory reactor available with a pressure gauge to maintain appropriate pressure condition required for the chemical reaction.
